Hi, I’m JohnCarlo Mandara, the 18-year-old founder of Letters with Love. I started Letters With Love in January 2025 with one simple goal: to spread love, encouragement, and human connection through handwritten cards.
From an early age, I’ve had a deep passion for volunteering and giving back to my community. I’ve had the privilege of working with many wonderful organizations which have fulfilled my passion for helping others. These experiences taught me how powerful even the smallest acts of kindness can be—and inspired me to create a project of my own.
Outside of Letters With Love, I have a strong love for nature and traveling. Some of my favorite memories have come from my trips to Greece and Italy.
Starting this service project has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. With each mission, I’ve witnessed how a simple card can brighten someone’s day, spark joy, and remind them they’re not alone. I’m excited to continue growing Letters With Love, connecting people through compassion—one handwritten message at a time.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.

My Service Outside Letters With Love: Building Kindness
I have been so honored and grateful for my time working with the wonderful volunteers at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh. Together we have been able to house those who deal with financial strain. In one of my most recent Habitat for Humanity projects, I met the family who is moving into the home I was helping build. I would like to thank Jason and James for training and directing me through these projects.
