Community Heroes Event May 26

Letters With Love closed out its second year with the return of one of our most meaningful missions, Community Heroes. This was the second time we organized this initiative, and it served as a powerful reminder of how many people work every day to support, protect, and care for our communities.

Throughout the month of May, volunteers created heartfelt cards to thank the everyday heroes who often go unnoticed. We revisited many of the organizations and groups we connected with during last year’s mission, including local police departments, fire departments, EMS teams, librarians, and bus drivers. These individuals play such an important role in people’s lives, and we wanted them to know that their hard work and dedication are appreciated.

This year, we were also excited to expand the mission even further. For the first time, Letters With Love delivered cards to animal shelter volunteers and the Attorney General’s Office. Both groups represent different forms of service and compassion within our communities, and we were honored to recognize their contributions.

Another exciting milestone for this mission was our expansion into a new location: Springfield, Massachusetts. Reaching a new community allowed us to spread even more kindness and appreciation while continuing to grow the impact of Letters With Love beyond the areas we have previously served.

Community Heroes was more than just a card-writing mission. It was a chance to recognize the people who consistently show up for others, often without expecting recognition in return. Whether responding to emergencies, helping students get to school safely, caring for animals, protecting communities, or providing resources and support, these everyday heroes make a lasting difference.

As we conclude our second year as an organization, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in this mission and helped us continue spreading kindness, gratitude, and connection throughout our communities.
