October Mission Recap
This October, Letters with Love embraced the spirit of autumn and the magic of Halloween by spreading joy to some of the bravest hearts in our community — the children at the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center in Yonkers, New York.
Thanks to our 67 dedicated volunteers and supporters, we were able to deliver 129 handmade, Halloween and fall-themed cards, each filled with warm messages, colorful drawings, and words of encouragement. The cards featured pumpkins, ghosts, autumn leaves, and cheerful messages designed to bring smiles and comfort to children facing complex medical challenges.
Along with the cards, we were thrilled to present a $600 donation to the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center. This donation will help provide continued care, therapy, and educational resources for the children, supporting the center’s mission to offer a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment.
About the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center
The Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center is a nationally recognized facility dedicated to children with complex medical needs. The center provides 24-hour nursing care, specialized therapies, and educational programs designed to help every child reach their full potential. Beyond clinical care, the center fosters creativity, social connection, and joy — ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and celebrated.
Impact of the Mission
Staff at the center shared that the children were absolutely thrilled to receive the cards, with many pointing out their favorite drawings or reading the encouraging messages aloud.
This mission was a beautiful reminder of the power of compassion. Each card and every dollar donated helps remind these young heroes that they are not alone — that people beyond the hospital walls care, celebrate them, and want to brighten their days.
Thank You to Our Community
None of this would have been possible without the generosity and creativity of our volunteers, participants, and supporters. Your time, energy, and kindness brought smiles, hope, and a sense of connection to the children at the Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center.
As we move forward into the holiday season, Letters with Love is committed to continuing our mission: delivering love, joy, and encouragement to those who need it most. One letter, one smile, one heart at a time.
Extending Love Beyond Hospital Walls: A Visit to the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill
As part of our October mission to deliver Halloween-themed cards and goodie bags to hospitalized children, Letters with Love also extended our care to the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, who embody compassion, faith, and lifelong service.
The Sisters received 144 Halloween goodie bags, each complete with a handwritten card crafted by our volunteers. These gifts served as a small token of appreciation for the women who have spent their lives nurturing others — through education, ministry, and community service.
While our primary focus this month was bringing smiles to children facing health challenges, we also wanted to recognize those who are pillars in our religious and community life. The Dominican Sisters continue to guide and inspire us through their unwavering dedication, reminding us that acts of kindness and faith go hand in hand.
At Letters with Love, we believe care knows no bounds. Whether it’s a child in a hospital or a Sister in a convent, everyone deserves to feel remembered, appreciated, and loved — especially during the holidays.
Letters With Love founder JohnCarlo Mandara was invited to celebrate the Elizabeth Seton Childrens Center and its dedication to helping those with the most medically challenging conditions at the Bella Notte Benefit Gala. Along with this, Letters With Love made a $600 donation to the children's center to further amplify the impact of our organization on others who need it.
